Habits
can be hard to break, or are they?
It is all in our perception of them.
We are all creatures of habit, some habits are
bad and some are good. When do we decide that a habit is bad? My
feeling is, that it is time to break a habit, when it keeps you from getting
what it is you want, or it effects the quality of your life.
Most
bad habits have a secondary gain so when we try to quit it is like we
are loosing something that fills a void or gain.
Smoking
for som,e is a form or relaxation, so when you give up smoking you give
up a way to relax. You need a way to replace that feeling with some
other form of activity.
There
is the addictive side to some habits that even if you want to quit the
body craves the drug, but the mind is very powerful and once it has
experienced a feeling once it knows how to recreate that feeling chemically
with out that drug.
You
can recreate a mirage of experiences, with out
the after effect.
